FAMILY AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROGRAM

Parents from our Valley View I.S.D. community attended the Annual End of the Year Ceremony
on April 25th, 2019, where they had the opportunity to showcase the skills they have acquired
in their respective programs. It is also a day of recognition for their individual
accomplishments. Participants are awarded well-deserved certi cates for their attendance and

hard work. The skills our parents have acquired are life skills that bene t them in the
workforce and at home. During the 2018-2019 school year, 16 students that have attended our
Adult English as a Second Language Classes have taken and passed their United States
Citizenship exam in 2019.

Valley View ISD continues to provide services to our community by offering Job Readiness
Classes that include ESL Classes, Communication Citizenship Class, Arts and Crafts, Sewing,

and Homemaking Class. VVISD also works closely with the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension
Agency in providing Nutrition Education classes. These classes are available during the day
so that parents with children can attend regularly. English as Second Language classes are
