In August 2002, Wilbur E. Lucas first opened its doors to students. The school was named after a former Board Member. Wil-
bur E. Lucas Elementary celebrated its 15 year anniversary with a Quinceañera on August 28 . The Valley View High School

Lucas Elementary has new “student”. Her name is Daisy Duck. She is a
Cayuga duck. Daisy was found in a swimming pool and rescued as a baby.
She was hand-raised and donated to our school as a pet. She spends her SUCCESS, NOTHING LESS 11
day waddling through the patio, catching insects and playing with the stu-
dents during lunch recess time. She especially likes to stand by the door
in the morning and afternoon to watch the student pass by in the hallway.
Daisy always quacks at the students as if to say “hello”.
