Supplemental Science FIF
Here at Valley View 5 Grade Campus, we understand the importance of critical
th
thinking, science literacy and hands-on experiences in the Science Lab and STEM
lab. Our science program provides opportunities to empower students to develop
understandings and skills necessary to function productively as problem-solvers
in a scientific and technological world. TH GRADE CAMPUS
Our students explore science in a variety of learning environments. Apart from the
daily science instruction in the classroom, students are provided two supplemental
science exploration labs on a weekly basis: the Science Lab and STEM Lab.
In the Science Lab, Ms. Anzaldua teaches hands-on science experiments
where science safety, process skills and inquiry methods are further explored
for student conceptual understanding. In the STEM Lab, Ms. Munguia teaches
science investigations via a wide range of virtual experiences that integrate
science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Both teachers continue to grow professionally in their learning by attending
and presenting at local and state science conferences to help share in the lat-
est research-based science instruction. SUCCESS, NOTHING LESS 7
Ms. Anzaldua and Ms. Munguia highly encourage all students to explore the world
around them and that learning science is not just for the STAAR, but for life!
