Success,
and NOTHING LESS
It has been a great
start of the 2017-2018
school year.
We are very proud of what our students and staff have been
able to accomplish. The Texas Education Agency announced that
Valley View ISD was 1 of 7 districts in the Valley and 58 districts
in the state to earn the only distinction given to a district, the
Post-Secondary Readiness distinction. In comparison to the
other 7 Valley districts who attained this honor we were only
second to South Texas ISD in this distinction (see chart below).
In the financial accountability Valley View ISD received an A
by the Texas Education Agency in the Financial Integrity Rat-
ing System of Texas. An audit is done yearly at the district level to ensure that everything in the finances is in compliance.
As you can see both in the academics and in the finances our district has excelled tremendously. Aside from improving our
academic program and the district’s financial stability this year we’ve enhanced our extra-curricular program to include
football, basketball, and soccer leagues are part of the rotating sports at the elementary. Tumbling/gymnastics are under-
way at the elementary as well. We now have softball, baseball, volleyball, and football at 6th gd. to build the bridge with
the high school and to give our students and opportunity to participate in these sports at that level. At the high school level
we added wrestling as a competitive sport.
As we promote our academic and extra-curricular programs we have improved our facilities to offer our students the best
opportunities to be successful. We completed our community walking trail and athletic center with exercise stations and SUPERINTENDENT
free Wi-Fi for the community to use. We have a basketball court, two volleyball pits, 2 soccer fields, 1 football field, and 1
baseball field for the community to use every day from 6:00 p.m. to
10:00 p.m. We started our LED lighting initiative replacing all of the
District Post-Secondary lighting in the district and replacing them with LED lights. The change
Readiness Rating is quite dramatic and will assist student learning.
It is no secret when schools, families, communities, and our board of
1. South Texas ISD 89% trustees support each other and come together students achieve at
2. Valley View ISD 81% the highest levels. Working together with our Board of Trustees, staff,
