FINE ARTS
Growth
TEAMWORK
in
Valley View ISD Fine Arts Department
is Reaching for the Sky FINE ARTS
It is a very rewarding experience to see the Valley View ISD Fine Arts Department’s growth from its beginning stages
in 2005. The Fine Arts Department has seen tremendous growth, student interest, parental involvement, and com-
munity support. Every year since 2005 the each of the programs in the Fine Arts Department has grown and in some
areas have more than quadrupled in membership. For example, the High School Band in 2005 had a membership of 18
students to now having well over 150 students in the HS Band Program. The HS Drill Team has also grown tremendous-
ly in membership from having 12 members to having over 35 members in the Drill Team. The Valley View HS Cheer
Squad went from having a single squad for the high school to having three participating squads: freshmen, Junior
Varsity, and Varsity Cheer Squads. Parent booster clubs have also been one of the many ways the Fine Arts parents SUCCESS, NOTHING LESS 13
are very involved with the programs. These parent organizations assist all student by providing meals, fundraising for
competitive events, and assisting staff with anything their programs need to function. The community has also been
demonstrating a very steadily growing show of support by packing the Performing Arts Auditorium during concerts
and shows. The sense of teamwork is very evident as staff, students, parents, and community work together to give
the ultimate experience for all Valley View ISD Fine Arts students.
