THE MAGIC OF READING!

Valley View 5th Grade Campus selected the theme “The Magic of Reading” to promote reading
for our 2019-2020 school year. Star Wars, The Greatest Showman, Peter Pan, Alice in
Wonderland and the Wizard of Oz were the designated famous books for each team. Teachers
and students were very creative in decorating the school hallways and classrooms. Students
had the opportunity to enjoy the magic of Reading by learning essential integrated topics
within the designated book. Teachers were very creative in integrating the designated book in

all content areas. Students had the opportunity to research, and create Powerpoint
presentations about their books. This year our school is very proud to announce that we
obtained 3rd place for our annual Star Reader Competition/Campus Reading Decorating
Contest. All teachers, students, staff, and parent volunteers did a remarkable job to obtain this
great accomplishment. Come Together, Work Together, ROAR Together!
