Exploring Careers at Valley View Elementary

Region One Education Center and DHR Health Institute for Research and Development invited

twelve 4 grade students from Valley View Elementary to attend the Health Science and Career

Exploration on December 1 . The day was made possible by the PATHS 4 Project. The purpose
of the conference was for the students to know that there are many more careers in the medical
field besides being a doctor or a nurse. The topics that were discussed are as follows:
neuroscience, physical therapy,
pharmacy, research, nursing,
dietetics, interpreter services,
medicine, basic life support and

diabetes awareness. Our goal is for
our students to reach their
educational goals and professional
goals. This was only one of the many
opportunities we give them

throughout the school year to engage
in career exploration.

Explorando carreras en Valley View Elementary

Region One Education Center y DHR Health Institute for Research and Development invitaron a
doce estudiantes de cuarto grado de Valley View Elementary a asistir a la Exploración de
carreras y ciencias de la salud el 1 de diciembre. El día fue posible gracias al Proyecto PATHS 4. El
propósito de la conferencia fue que los estudiantes supieran que hay muchas más carreras en el

campo de la medicina además de ser médico o enfermera. Los temas que se trataron son los
siguientes: neurociencia, fisioterapia, farmacia, investigación, enfermería, dietética, servicios de
interpretación, medicina, soporte vital básico y concienciación sobre la diabetes. Nuestro
objetivo es que nuestros alumnos alcancen sus metas educativas y metas profesionales. Esta fue

solo una de las muchas oportunidades que les brindamos a lo largo del año escolar para
participar en la exploración de carreras.
