Lucas Elementary Royal Court

Students at Lucas Elementary who were top sellers of our Cherrydale Chocolate fundraiser earned a spot on the Royal Court. A
coronation ceremony was held in front of the student body and school community. The students were recognized and crowned
by Superintendent Rolando Ramirez. The students were serenaded by the Valley View High School Mariachi and PreK students
sang and danced. The entire student body and school community were invited to this important event. The students were be
featured on the school’s float in the Borderfest Parade on Saturday, March 2nd. Congratulations, students.

Royal Court

at BorderFest

Lucas Elementary’s Royal Court,
Cheer Squad and Student Council
participated in the Borderfest parade
on March 2 in Hidalgo, Texas. This
year’s theme was “Salute to India”.
Students dressed in traditional
costumes and parent volunteers and
school staff built a float featuring an
ornately decorated Indian Elephant
and a mandala. Thanks to the parent
volunteers and staff our float won First
Place. Congratulations, everyone!
